    Frank Zotter

    AMAW VAN
Since graduating from the National Theatre School, Frank has performed in over a hundred theatre productions from coast to coast. He is also the proud recipient of a masters degree from UBC in which he graduated with the first ever MFA in acting. Professional highlights include the Stratford Festival where he played Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream, joining the acting ensemble at the Court Theater in Chicago, and an Off-Broadway engagement at the Abingdon Theater. In Vancouver, he has performed with most of the local theatre companies including The Arts Club, the Vancouver Playhouse, Bard on the Beach, Touchstone, Green Thumb, the Electric Company and the Firehall to name a few. He voices the character of Doom in the Cartoon series Deltora Quest, and his many TV and film credits include: Izombie, a half dozen Hallmark films, Mythquest, Mixed Blessings and Twice in a Lifetime. He has won both the Sterling and Betty Mitchell awards for Outstanding Lead Actor, and the Critter award, as well as best Actor in a Short Film at the 2009 Vancouver Film Festival. Frank has enjoyed teaching at AMAW for six years. He has also taught at Rogues West and instructed many acting intensives along the way. What inspired you to become an actor? As a child, when I watched a production of Godspell, I couldn’t get my mind wrapped around the fact that these adults, behaving as children, we’re getting paid to do that! The musical absolutely questioned my relationship to religion and art and encouraged me to rebel… As an actor I retained that same rebellious joyful play and realized that sharing great stories what is what all religions aspire to be. Our craft however nails it and realizes it universally.
