What You’ll Learn
Listening. Circumstances. Character. Strong Choices.
This course introduces actors to the fundamentals of the AMAW philosophy and our way of working. A major shift takes place during this period that is faster and more tangible than any other acting program. Designed to quickly move you from an actor who “acts” to one who lives truthfully and embodies feeling.
You will be partnered up, working face-to-face with another actor each class. Each class includes a lesson, warmup, scene work, and homework.
This is the AMAW signature Foundations course that EVERYONE takes worldwide before joining our ongoing Scene Study classes.

Do I take Foundations if I already have acting experience?
Yes. Everyone begins here at AMAW.
Do I need acting experience?
Not at all. Bring curiosity, a willingness to play, and the courage to say, “F it!”
How do online classes work?
Classes are live on Zoom, working face-to-face with a partner each week — perfect practice for Zoom auditions and self-tapes.
What happens after Foundations?
You’ll be ready to join ongoing monthly Scene Study classes at any AMAW studio worldwide.
