AMAW London Studio Policies

AMAW LONDON STUDIO WIDE POLICIES/GUIDELINES:

Read carefully, as you will be held responsible for all policies. 

1. All students must read and adhere to the AMAW Code Of Ethics
2. Please give Content Warnings to your classmates before you start your scene. This gives your classmates a chance to leave the class for the scene if there is content they might find disturbing within a scene. Ask your teachers if you are unsure how to do this.
3. Boundaries need to be discussed with your partner before you perform your scene each week. When you are reading your scene with your partner before class, please talk about your boundaries with your partner as boundaries can shift between one class to another. You must be able to tell the teacher what your partner’s boundaries are before the scene begins. Your teachers are going to be talking about this more each class as well.

ALL POLICIES FOR AMAW FOUNDATIONS COURSE:

1. Refunds/Credits. Payment is non-refundable. If you have to withdraw and notify the Studio Manager at least 72 hours prior to the start of the course, your payment will be kept on file for a future Foundations date. (All credits expire after one calendar year if not used). No refunds or credits are applied if a student cancels within 72 hours of their Foundation Course’s start date, including after the class begins.
2. There are no make-ups for missed Foundation classes. For our 6-week Foundation course, you are allowed to miss 2 of your 6 classes without having to retake the course. For the Weekend Foundation Intensive, you can miss one of the 4 sessions without being required to retake the course. 
3. Anthony’s books: At Left Brain Turn Right and Book The F#cking Job are required reading for homework assigned during the course. Buy them before the first class! We sell them at the office and they are available on Amazon. 
4. Please come prepared with two scenes printed for each class.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT ON-GOING CLASSES 

1. Payment is due before your first class of the month. If payment is not received, you risk losing your spot on the roster. If there is a waitlist and you have not paid by the due date, you will lose your spot.
2. If you need to drop out of class after the class has begun, there are no refunds. Credits and partial credits will be decided on a case-by-case basis. (All credits expire after one calendar year if not used). If you drop out of class after the monthly class has started, you are still responsible for £100 to cover teaching/administrative fees. Students must notify the Studio Manager 72 hours prior to the class starting to receive a full credit to use in a future class.
3. If you are consistently late to class without communicating with your partner and teacher, leaving early without valid explanation, or constantly on your phone, your placement on the roster will be reevaluated at the end of each month.
4. The cost of class is £198 (VAT included) per month. If you wish to add a second class, the cost is £120 (VAT included) per month.
5. Our referral program has changed. If you refer a student, once they have finished Foundations you will get a one-time £25 credit for your next month of classes. You and the Foundation student must communicate this to the Studio Manager at: london@anthonymeindl.com.
6. Scenes should be read with your partner before class. We are not taking the time to read scenes during class.
7. Please be respectful of other classes. If you are reading a scene with a partner, be mindful of your volume. Do not go overboard banging on doors when knocking, or by slamming the doors. Please do not make loud or unnecessary noise in the hallway outside of your classroom.
8. Please come prepared with two scenes printed.

9. Make-up classes: In most UK acting studios, if you miss a class, you lose the class. As this is ongoing work and an investment in yourself, we want to allow for those times when an audition might clash at the same time as your class, you book the job (yay!) or if you’re sick, etc. They are also useful as you get to work with different teachers and groups and meet more of your community.
10. Actors are entitled to only one make-up per month as long as you let the studio manager know 72 hours in advance of the missed class. Classes missed without notice will not be eligible for make-ups. You have 30 days before and 30 days after a missed class to do your make-up. They do expire 30 days after the missed class. Make-ups are not guaranteed and can only occur when a registered student of that class is away.
11. Makeups must be completed within 30 days of missing a class. Students should come prepared with two copies of a scene and plan to stay for the entire class.To book in a make-up class, reach out to the Studio Manager at: london@anthonymeindl.com.
