Why did you become an Actor?
When I was 16 I saw two shows that made me want to become and actor and theatre maker. The first was Kneehigh’s Tristan and Ysuelt, directed by Emma Rice. This showed me how playful ensemble theatre can be and that live theatre can do things no other medium can. The second was Scaramouche Jones- a one man show starring the kate great Pete Postlethwaite. This left me so transported and moved and as the lights went down you could hear a pin drop. I was so moved by his performance- and I realised that the artist has the power to make an entire audience feel so much. These big feelings are the very stuff of life it’s what we go to the theatre to experience and it’s what we become actors to share.
